![]() Please ask any questions prior to bidding! Shipping will vary depending on your location. The guitar will ship in the newer chipboard case shown. This is a great little fingerpicker and has really nice tone and sound, and plays quite well. The binding on the head stock and on the body and the multi colored purfling is in great condition, the binding on the neck show some cracks at a few of the fret ends. I am not sure if the tuners are original, but they are period correct. The bridge looks to have been reglued at one point and there is evidence of a trapeze being on it one point (you can see a slight shadow, and there is one (1) filled screw hole on the butt of the guitar that would have held it on. There are no cracks in the body or neck, but the fingerboard does have shrinkage cracks running up the middle of it. The guitar has all of its original finish, which shows normal use, and is pretty nice considering it is at least 80 years old. I have Martin extra lights on it, tuned 1/2 step down, but it should probably have Martin silk and steels on it. The action at the 12th fret low E is 4/32 and 3/32 for the high E with lots of saddle height (almost 3/16). This guitar is in great playing condition, with nice action up and down the neck. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1920s era (maybe earlier, not sure how to date these) Lyon & Healy vintage parlor guitar, s/n 7634 (stamped on the neck block) and Lyon & Healy stamped on the back center strip. ![]()
